Let’s open up and say yes to healthy mind
Mental health can simply be defined as the state of well-being in which the individual realizes his/her abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and can make a contribution to his/her community. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health problems, loneliness, depression, alcohol and drug abuse, and self-harm or suicidal behaviour, just to name a few, are increasing. A lot of people are managing to cope up with the support of their loved ones, however, for others, external help might be needed for them to bring their life back on track.
Pragyata Foundation trustee, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Clinical Psychologist, Mind Body Medicine Expert has started a wonderful initiative to spread awareness about mental health under our project ‘Say Yes To Healthy Mind’ and is carrying out this project in different parts of India. ‘Say Yes To Healthy Mind’ is a mental health awareness campaign initiated to raise awareness and educate people about mental health issues and to serve as a forum for constructive discussion on the same. If you or someone you know is experiencing or finding it difficult to participate in normal daily activities, is experiencing loss of hope or interest in their lives or an overwhelming sense of fear or sadness that is severe or lasting too long, Pragyata Foundation has launched a helpline no.: 9992111888 where anyone who needs immediate help can call.
