Mental health, though stigmatized, is a major concern in our society today since 1 out of every 4 persons is likely to be suffering from a mental illness.
Pragyata Foundation organized a campaign to raise awareness about this sensitive, yet extremely important issue. Children rallied in Masoodpur village, New Delhi to aware and educate people about the importance of mental health and how to identify and help a suffering person. They were told about the available helplines for both major and minor concerns such as suicide prevention, depression etc. People raised queries and even shared their experiences where they came across mentally ill patients who were in need of help, yet they couldn't be helped simply because of lack of knowledge and understanding.
It's about time that we stop neglecting and running away from issues that matter and in fact even go noticed inspite of being prevalent in our very own surroundings.
