SESSION ON SELF-RELIANCE AND LIVELIHOOD
A session on self-reliance and livelihood was organised by Ms. Tanisha Yadav for women who are homemakers and do not work outside of home despite having the will to do so. These rural women were guided and encouraged on how they can use their skill sets to earn a living for themselves and become self-reliant. They were educated about the prospective kinds of work that they could do, such as stitching, handicrafts making, embroidery, paper products etc. Formation of self-help groups and cooperative societies was also encouraged. Their queries were taken up and answered. Furthermore, they were informed about ways of dealing with the challenges that an Indian rural homemaker usually faces. They were educated on mental health and how to take care of their psychological well-being just like the physiological. This was also followed by a mediation exercise.
