SURVEY ON HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
On the occasion of the human rights day, we surveyed underprivileged as well as general people around Delhi NCR such as Nathupur, DLF Phase 3, Rangpuri, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, Masoodpur, Laxmi Nagar, Munirka, Prayagraj etc.The results were very fascinating; most of the underprivileged people did not know the meaning of ‘human rights’ but were aware of concepts like Hospitals and Police resources, Aadhaar card, Ration card, and other minor things that have been publicised over the past few years. Surprisingly, we found that the slums in Delhi NCR have access to internet through apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube while they lack access to basic a amenities and human rights such as education, good food and clean water, and a safe place to live. The general public was aware of their rights, and have used them for the most part. The survey also revealed that the underprivileged members of the society are much more active voters than the general public, but aren’t aware of the policies that affect their lives. Therefore, as 2020 sets in, we look forward to bridge this huge gap of providing human rights to these people over the coming years through our many projects so that they can live like a proud citizen of India, a right each one of us deserves.
