PROJECT COMPLETED - DURATION 2 YEARS (2020 - 2021)
In the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the country have been massively affected in different ways (financially, mentally, physically). The worst hit have been the ones who were already in need even before the pandemic struck. Another huge section has been mentally affected and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety etc. have come across as rising.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pragyata Foundation actively supported those affected in various ways. We conducted regular food distribution drives, providing both cooked meals and grocery kits in Delhi, Gurugram, Hisar, Etawah, and Baghpat while adhering to social distancing measures. Additionally, we distributed masks, sanitizers, and soaps in Gurugram, Delhi, Jharkhand, and U.P. We assisted people in downloading the Aarogya Setu app and educated them about its features, resulting in approximately 500 app downloads across different areas. To address the rising mental health issues, we launched a free helpline and conducted counseling sessions and workshops led by our trustee member, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, a Clinical Psychologist, to provide mental health support during COVID-19 across India.
We have taken several efforts and initiatives for combating the situation:
-
We have been providing food to the poor, elderly, children, migrant workers, homeless, needy and people without jobs by establishing community kitchens and regular food distribution camps.
-
Masks, Sanitizers and Soaps distribution
-
Mental Health awareness through Counselling, Workshops and Webinars and also launched a free Helpline number
-
making public aware through creative means, about keeping proper physical distance, and taking care about all other precautions especially where people are gathering frequently like Banks, ATMs, market places, food camps, night shelters, outside factories etc
-
making people aware about Aarogya Setu App and helping them download it and using its features, by our team members
