PROJECT COMPLETED - DURATION 1 WEEK (26th March 2023 - 1st April 2023)
Pragyata Foundation successfully organized a District level seminar on 'Medicinal Plants for Urban Pollution' in South West Delhi, under the patronage of the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH. The event raised awareness and promoted the use of medicinal plants to combat pollution. The foundation also conducted an impactful awareness campaign, distributing medicinal plants and educating residents in South West and South Delhi districts. A live session featuring a panel discussion further deepened understanding and engagement with medicinal plants. Overall, the initiatives contributed to a healthier and more sustainable living environment. During the one-week program, residents were encouraged to cultivate medicinal plants at home, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. The collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH further enhanced the reach and impact of the initiatives, emphasizing the importance of traditional healthcare practices. OBJECTIVE OF THE SEMINAR
1. To promote awareness about scientific and commercial importance of medicinal plants.
2. To gather and disseminate information on various aspects of medicinal plants.
3. To promote developement of medicinal plants based industry in the country.
4. Discussion on benefits of different medicinal & herbal plants and their uses.
5. Sustainable Utilization and conservation of Medicinal plants
6. Play on the proposed topic to spread more awareness.
7. Best Poster Award and Oral Presentation Award will also be given.
8. Education through print material & electronic media.
9. Distribution of medicinal plants to all the participants & audience.
OUTPUTS AND OUTCOMES:
1. The event has been done successfully. More than 150 people attended this common platform of South West Delhi district
2. Enhancing the knowledge and skills of the audience and participants who were involved in the seminar.
3. Documentation of the entire process of undertaking theory and technical sessions during this seminar, participants feedback
4. Mainstreaming sustainable use of medicinal plants for facing the pollution in Urban areas.
