Project Vidya- Getting people a sustainable living

Project Vidya aims to facilitate women and youth empowerment through teaching skills for having a sustainable livelihood. We do this by providing computer facilities and labs, libraries equipped with good academic and non – academic literature, Silai Centres with machines and material, and Handicrafts production training and supplies, along with teachers in all areas to guide them properly.

  • Setting free silai (tailoring) centres in rural areas with experienced teachers from this field
  • Certifying the ladies on completion of their tailoring course so that they can use their learnt skills and independently earn themselves a living
  • Sessions and workshops for women on life skills, vocational training, soft skills, self-defence, capacity building along with counselling sessions and wellness programs are also conducted
  • Women are also aided and encouraged in the formation of their self-help groups and cooperative societies
  • Helping women in starting their own livelihood and assisting them in getting employed
  • Fabric distributions
  • Donating stitching machines

  • We teach women to use their Indian sklls to make cultural handicrats that can be sold for a price in the markets aroun the globe
  • We provide the materials and machines, and the women enjoy making new things
  • The products are then sold and all revenue generated is used in sustaining this project further by paying women for their work, and by providing more materials and getting more women on board.
  • This is one of our fastest growing initiatives.

  • Setting up free-of-cost computer labs along with experienced educators in the field of IT
